Bengals receiver could be on the move

A.J. Green hasn’t played a game with the Bengals this season while recovering from an ankle injury, and he might not play for them when he’s healthy.

With the Bengals 0-5, general managers of contending teams are expressing trade interest in Green, according to CBS Sports. While some are skeptical about whether Cincinnati would actually sell off ahead of this month’s trade deadline, some GMs told CBS the Bengals could get a first-round pick for the 31-year-old wide receiver if the acquiring team was able to ink Green to an extension — and if Green is healthy soon.

Green, who is set to become a free agent after this season, tore ligaments in his left ankle in July during a practice on the subpar field at University of Dayton’s stadium.

The seven-time Pro Bowler has 8,907 yards receiving and 63 touchdowns over eight NFL seasons, all of which have been with Cincinnati. He played just nine games last season because of a toe injury.
