The Giants’ Madison Bumgarner will look to put on a good showing for a potential trade-deadline suitor when he pitches Saturday night in Milwaukee.
Bumgarner has given up more than three earned runs in just one of his past nine starts and has pitched at least six innings in all but two starts since the beginning of May. The Giants are 4-1 in his past five starts. Brewers counterpart Zach Davies is 7-2 with a 3.07 ERA, but Milwaukee is 2-3 in his past five starts and he has given up at least three runs in four out of his past six.
The Giants went into the All-Star break hitting the best they have all year. hey also entered the series with a bullpen ERA that is sixth in the majors, compared to the Brewers’ 13th. So all signs point to the Giants being able to brew up a win in Milwaukee.
