Ghost Games takes you back to the 80s for Need for Speed Heat.
Update: Today's day.
We are now pretty confident that EA's big revelation will be Need for Speed: Heat. The redditors stole the decals losing the title of the game in an unlisted trailer.
Additional information from YouTuber LP_RIPPER24 suggests that it will be an open world full of that 80s flair that all kids love today. He also suggested that Ghost Games, developer of Rivals and Payback, be back at the wheel of Heat.

Original story: We have known for a long time that a new Need for Speed is hitting this year. We even have an idea of what his name might be after an Austrian retailer has leaked a list under "Need for Speed: Heat".
The finish line may soon be near. The official Need for Speed website now has a countdown. There are only two days and one hour left at the time of writing. Erase your Wednesday, racing fans.
This year marks 25 years of Need for Speed and a new game will be the 26th of the series. Expect more than a little fanfare from EA.
Last year, Payback was a bit of a job without joy. In our review, Matt felt that there might be a decent game somewhere, but there is no reason to stay and find it.
