There are many games to play for free this weekend on PS4, Xbox One and PC

If you are looking for something new to play but you are not yet ready to spend money, you will be spoiled for choice this weekend. A number of titles are free for the next few days on PC and Xbox One, and owners of PS4 and Xbox One will be able to try a special demo of Dead or Alive 6.

PC gamers have the most choice this weekend, as four titles hold free weekends on Steam. These include the Boundless and TerraTech sandbox games, the mech BattleTech strategy game and the 3v3 Aftercharge competition game. You can enjoy these four products for free until Sunday, February 24th. Each of them is also on sale in case you would like to recover them after the end of the free time period.

On Xbox One, Xbox Live Gold members can try out Halo Wars: Definitive Edition and its suite, Halo Wars 2, for free as part of the ongoing promotion of Microsoft Free Days. The trial period also lasts until February 24. You can download them from the Microsoft website or the Gold member area on Xbox One. Both games are on sale at 50% discount on Microsoft Store.

Beyond that, Team Ninja is holding a beta version of its upcoming fighting game, Dead or Alive 6, Feb. 22-24. The demo will be available on PS4 and Xbox One, but you will need a PlayStation Plus or Xbox Live Gold membership to participate. You can read more about the beta on the Dead or Alive 6 website.

Separated from free weekends, Epic offers another free title through its showcase, Epic Games Store. Until March 7, PC gamers can claim a free digital copy of the Thimbleweed Park adventure game, point-and-click.
